I become what I already am
A movement towards flourishing light

Fireflies flicker behind the dusk
I follow the inner candle
The flame shivers
I step to the edge and leap
my wings grow towards
An inseparable truth

It’s late may, magnolia buds suddenly
Stand wide open
Pale pink and white
in heaps around the tree trunk
The sweet scent you whisper will be sung back
Sun melts the frost enclosing you
You have been painted beyond

As you turn your face towards me
We share in our stillness
